Today, our Nursery One friends learned about fire safety and explored the concept through painting. The educators introduced the children to basic fire safety tips, such as the importance of staying away from flames and knowing what to do in an emergency. To reinforce these lessons, the children were given red, orange, and yellow paints to create their own fire-themed artwork. As they painted, the educators talked about the role of firefighters and the importance of fire safety at home and school. The children were fully engaged, using their artwork as a way to understand and express the concept of fire safety.
Reflection
The Nursery One children’s engagement in the fire safety activity showed how art can be a
powerful tool for teaching important concepts. Through painting, they not only learned about fire safety but also had the opportunity to express their understanding creatively. Moving forward, we can continue to use art as a way to explore other safety topics, helping the children to develop a deeper understanding of these essential lessons in a way that is both meaningful and enjoyable.

Outcome 2: The children developed an understanding of the natural world, discussing seasonal changes and different species they observed.
