Our management systems support safety, clear communication, and continuous improvement.
Keeping Children Safe
At the heart of our systems is child safety. Every incident or concern is documented, reviewed, and followed up. We use this information to improve the way we supervise, manage environments, and reduce risks. For example, after noticing a pattern of minor outdoor injuries, we revised our supervision zones and relocated play equipment—creating safer spaces without compromising active, hands-on learning.
Clear and Proactive Management
Our team uses digital diaries, risk assessments, and checklists to ensure nothing is missed. Before introducing a new experience—like woodwork or real cooking tools—we conduct full risk assessments and involve the whole team in planning. Educators have access to templates and receive coaching on how to complete these tasks independently.
Involving Educators in Change
Our educators contribute to the service’s management through weekly meetings, policy reviews, and reflective interviews. For example, when reviewing our cleaning schedules, several educators suggested more efficient ways to rotate tasks—these changes were adopted and recorded into our updated system.
Listening to Families
We invite families to shape our operations too. Our “Partnerships with Families” board encourages feedback in person or online. Families helped shape our ISBAR communication system—a consistent way of talking about learning, behaviour, and care that educators now use daily. Events like “Meet the Educator” nights allow us to listen, adjust, and strengthen trust between families and our leadership team.
