Practical Support When You Need It
At Dubbo Early Learning Centre, we understand that parenting comes with both joys and challenges. That’s why our educators share current, helpful information with families—whether it’s about local dentists, speech therapists, or mental health support. We offer practical referrals to community services such as financial assistance, paediatricians, occupational therapists, and parenting programs, ensuring families always have access to the help they need.
Guided by What Works
Our approach to supporting families is grounded in evidence. We draw on the Early Years Learning Framework and other expert guidance, including Red Nose Australia, Nutrition Australia, and the Federal Government’s physical activity recommendations. These resources help us provide information that’s not only current, but also aligned with best practice. We know that when families feel supported, children thrive—so we make this a priority in everything we do.
Responding with Care and Reflection
We reflect on real experiences to improve how we respond to family needs. Whether it’s noticing cultural practices that require sensitive conversations, following up on a child protection concern, or responding to a family crisis—we step in early with care and compassion. This may include home visits, offering emotional support, or organising guest speakers and information nights to address specific parenting topics or health concerns.
Connecting Families with Community
We know our community well, and we use that knowledge to help families connect. From government supports and inclusion agencies to medical specialists and local parenting networks, we link families with the right people at the right time. We organise weekend playdates in local parks, connect families with culturally relevant organisations, and build bridges to services like Mission Australia, Interrelate, Dubbo Breastfeeding Support, and the Family Referral Service.
