Valuing Family Knowledge

Families are included in every part of our service, from enrolment to decision-making.

Welcoming You Into Our Community
At Dubbo Early Learning Centre, we value your voice from the moment you walk through our doors. During enrolment and orientation, we take time to learn about your family’s strengths, values, and preferences. You’re introduced to key staff, shown around the rooms, and guided through how we operate—so you feel confident and connected from day one.

Sharing in Service Decisions
Families help shape our program in practical, meaningful ways. From routines and transitions to behaviour support plans and learning goals, we work together. If your child has additional needs, we co-create individualised strategies, communication plans, and risk minimisation measures. We’ve even invited families to contribute to planned playground renovations—because your ideas matter to us.

Flexible and Inclusive Participation
We know every family’s situation is different, so we offer a variety of ways to stay involved. Whether it’s a weekend event, a quick text message, or a relaxed chat at pick-up, we find ways to include you. Educators reflect often on how we can remove barriers to engagement and ensure everyone feels welcome, heard, and valued.

Connecting Families and Community
We support families to build connections with each other and the wider community. From casual meetups at the park to linking families with local parenting or medical services, we help create supportive networks. Our educators are ready to guide you to helpful resources and walk alongside you as partners in your child’s learning and wellbeing.
