We work together to support your child’s health and wellbeing.
At Dubbo Early Learning Centre, we take a proactive, collaborative approach to children’s health. From healthy eating and hygiene to managing medical needs and supporting mental wellbeing, our educators work with families and professionals to create safe, consistent, and personalised care.
We Work With Families and the Community
We regularly partner with families and health professionals to support children’s health outcomes. Whether it’s working with a paediatrician to develop an asthma action plan, coordinating with a speech therapist, or implementing a dietary request from home—we make sure your child receives consistent support across all settings. We’ve also participated in initiatives like Munch & Move and local council programs to promote better health habits in our community.
We Respond to Changing Health Needs
Our team is trained and ready to respond to children’s changing health needs. We monitor children daily for signs of illness or discomfort, update health management plans in consultation with families, and confidently respond to medical events like allergies or injuries. If a child has a new diagnosis or temporary injury, we adapt our routines and activities to include them safely and comfortably. Our educators complete regular first aid training to ensure we’re always prepared.
We Reflect to Keep Improving
We regularly reflect on our health practices to ensure they’re working for every child. We talk with families about sleep routines, eating habits, and physical activity at home and in the centre. If a child is showing signs of fatigue, we adjust rest times and collaborate with parents to develop a consistent routine. We’ve also arranged dental education visits, reviewed our sunscreen and hygiene practices, and adapted policies based on family feedback and cultural needs.
Together, We Create a Healthy Future
Your child’s health and comfort are always top of mind. We keep families informed, welcome your input, and work together with healthcare professionals to ensure your child feels safe, supported, and healthy—every day.
