Educational Leadership

Guided by a Leader Who Inspires Learning

Our Educational Leader works alongside every educator to build a rich, intentional learning program for your child.

What Is Educational Leadership?

Our Educational Leader is a full-time member of our team who coaches, mentors, and supports all educators. He doesn’t stay in an office—he’s in the rooms, demonstrating how to extend learning, guide behaviour, and use reflection as a tool for growth. He supports lesson planning, shares research, and ensures each child’s learning experience is tailored, engaging, and based on high expectations.

Planning and Reflecting Together

Our educators meet weekly for collaborative planning sessions. These sessions are designed so staff can brainstorm meaningful learning experiences and reflect on children’s interests. The Educational Leader helps guide these conversations and introduces ideas like play-based STEM challenges, group story mapping, or language-rich routines for toddlers.

We also hold regular reflective meetings. Educators are encouraged to share what worked, what didn’t, and what they noticed about children’s learning. Feedback loops are established, and educators are given time to develop and review their own goals.

Real Examples from Practice

Our Educational Leader supported a new trainee who felt unsure about storytelling. After a short in-room demonstration and some coaching, the trainee confidently led a group time using props and a story they co-wrote with the children. In another case, he introduced peer learning, where educators visited each other’s rooms and gave positive, constructive feedback—building trust and professional growth.

Families can see this in action too. During pick-up, the Educational Leader may be in your child’s room helping educators share learning stories or explain an observation. At parent-teacher evenings, he speaks with families about children’s progress, and how program decisions are made.

Staying Connected with Families

We share the Educational Leader’s work in newsletters, Facebook posts, and during tours. Families are invited to contact him with questions about learning, transitions, or challenges like behaviour or school readiness. His approachable nature and depth of knowledge help parents feel confident that the program is meaningful, evidence-based, and responsive to your child’s development.
