Fit for purpose: what it means for your child
For a child experiencing seizures and self-injurious episodes while awaiting a transplant, educators adapted the environment with cushions and protected spaces, guided by family and medical information. Quiet sensory areas, accessible equipment and flexible group spaces support every child's participation. Our educators observed peers helping interpret the child's communication, reviewed what worked and embedded safer group strategies while preserving belonging, agency and learning.
