Our goal is simple but powerful: ensure that every child feels safe, included, and able to reach their full potential. We carefully plan who works where and when—so that children can build strong relationships, families feel confident, and our educators have the opportunity to thrive in their roles.

Guided by Purpose and Philosophy

We make sure all children are able to participate in learning experiences that are safe, engaging, and inclusive. Educators are organised to promote wellbeing and support children’s development at every stage. Families’ voices are valued in this process, and we welcome feedback that helps us improve. To support educator growth, we use a “skills book” where team members reflect on their progress, goals, and achievements—strengthening our shared commitment to high-quality care.

Thoughtful Team Placement

We don’t just fill rosters—we think deeply about how each educator’s background, strengths, and interests can benefit the children they work with. Factors such as safety, supervision, continuity, and team compatibility are always considered. We match educators’ qualifications, experiences, and even hobbies (like soccer or gymnastics) to support the children’s interests and learning styles. Wherever possible, we move educators up with the children at the end of the year to maintain consistent relationships and emotional security.

Reflecting and Improving

We regularly reflect on how our staffing decisions impact children’s learning outcomes. For example, we’ve made changes to ensure greater consistency for children with familiar educators moving into older rooms alongside them. We’ve also built a more diverse and balanced team, with a mix of cultural backgrounds and qualifications. These intentional decisions have helped us create stronger teams and better outcomes for children.

Responding to Our Local Community

Dubbo has seen a cultural shift in recent years, with more families from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. We are proud to have educators who reflect this diversity, and we match educators with children where shared language or culture can help build stronger bonds. This helps children feel represented, heard, and understood, while also enriching our program through community knowledge and perspectives.

We plan our educator roles to support every child’s growth and wellbeing.
